Toni Chandler Rapier
Toni Chandler Rapier studied ‘cello in her youth in Philadelphia with Orlando Cole and earned her Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School, studying with Gabor Rejto and performing with the Rochester Philharmonic with Eric Leinsdorf. Toni Rapier was awarded her Performers Certificate from Eastman performing Bloch’s Schelomo and the Brahms Double Concerto. She has played in the Kansas City Philharmonic, the Baltimore Symphony, and was the principal ‘cellist with the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. Since moving to Duxbury in 1970, she has performed in the theater orchestras of Boston, the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and teaches ‘cello privately. Toni Rapier is a founding member of the Cantabile Quartet.
