Rebecca Henderson has performed as Guest Principal Oboist with many orchestras, including the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Oregon Symphony, and as Acting Principal Oboist with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. As a concerto soloist, she has performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Alabama Chamber Orchestra, and Philharmonia Northwest of Seattle. She has served on the faculties of the University of Alabama and the University of Washington, and was a member of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra for four years. She is currently as Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
Ms. Henderson has been featured on numerous film scores, including Imax films such as "Everest" and "Olympic Glory," as well as feature films and network television miniseries. As a soloist and chamber musician she has also recorded for the Centaur, RCA Masterworks, and RCWinds labels. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory, Ms. Henderson received her Master of Music degree and the Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Her teachers include Richard Henderson, James Caldwell, Richard Killmer, John Mack, John de Lancie, and Grover Schiltz.
