Soprano Kendra Colton began her musical training as a pianist at age 5, and remained faithful to the piano through her years of study at the Vienna Hochschule for Musik, Oberlin College, and the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where she received a double Master of Music degree in Piano and Voice. When she won first place in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions in Cincinnati, she began to take singing seriously. Miss Colton has enjoyed a music career of varied experiences. Her opera career has taken her to Opernhaus Zurich, where she sang for two seasons, as well as the Banff Centre Opera, Skylight Opera Theatre, and Florentine Opera. As a chamber musician, Miss Colton has appeared at the Tanglewood Contemporary Music Festival, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and with the Bach Aria Group in New York. Orchestral and oratorio engagements have included works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and Orff with the Indianapolis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, Orquestra Santa Cecilia (Spain), Hamburger Singakademic, and Collegium Musicum (Germany).
