Edwin Swanborn
Harpsichordist Edwin Swanborn is highly regarded for his “elegance and authority” (Boston Globe) in the performance of early music. Born in Boston, Edwin Swanborn studied with Dr. Anthony Newman at the Juillard School of Music and has participated in master classes with Gustav Leonhardt and Anton Heiller. In 1975, Mr. Swanborn made his European recital debut in Cassis, France, and has made many tours to Mexico and Canada. In the historic town of Duxbury, MA, Mr. Swanborn is music director of the First Parish Church and artistic director of the highly successful Candlelight Series. Founder-Director of the Boston Baroque chamber Players and harpsichordist of the Antlanta Virtuosi, Mr. Swanborn also serves on the music staff of Northeastern University. He has recorded the J. L. Krebs Organ Works and the J. M. Leclair flute sonatas with flutist Robert Stallman on VAI Records.
